This Week I Am Reading… Hannah V, Queenswood Head Girl

Thursday 3 December 2020

Hannah is Queenswood's Head Girl for this year. In addition to being an outstanding role model to the younger cohorts, she also acts as a link between Mrs Cameron, the Senior Leadership Team and the pupils. Hannah enjoys playing rugby, spending time with her new puppy and reading.

A Room with a View by E.M. Forster

A wonderfully written book, the first half set in the sunny and beautiful Florence, Italy, and the second in the rolling hills of Surrey, England. This is the first classic novel that I have been fully immersed in and have connected with (although I do love many others too!)

It follows a young girl, Lucy Honeychurch, on her trip to Italy with her insufferable cousin Charlotte and the tribulations of young love. Whilst the story is marvellous, I think the setting and style of writing really made this book for me. I would thoroughly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys classic novels and anyone willing to give them a go; you might be very pleasantly surprised!
