Learning in Years 9–11
In Year 9, pupils make their GCSE/IGCSE choices. Each pupil takes an average of nine GCSEs/IGCSEs including the compulsory core subjects: English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Combined Science (or three separate Science qualifications).
In addition, pupils usually choose three or more subjects from the following options: Art & Design, Computer Science, Classical Civilisation, Dance, Design & Technology, Drama, Geography, History, Latin, Music, Physical Education, Religious Studies, Spanish.
Every effort is made to keep these choices as open as possible, and pupils have the opportunity to discuss their options with the subject staff, Tutors, the Head of Year, the Senior Deputy Head and, of course, their parents.
