The Great British Bake Off is back and on Tuesday we enjoyed watching this season's twelve bakers battle it out during week one's cake challenge. Software Developer Tom was the first contestant to leave the tent after his three-tiered lemon and almond sponge failed to defy the laws of gravity leaving his GBBO experience short but sweet!

This weekend why not embrace the GBBO spirit and have a go at baking your own cake? There is a plethora of recipes on the show's website or you could try baking the Admissions team's favourite cake - lemon drizzle. They are happy to sample your show stopping creations!
