Spotlight on Senior Prefects: Introducing Willow H, Your New Head Girl

Friday 15 September 2023

AS TOLD TO SIENNA M, YEAR 13

What do you intend to do this academic year?

I would like to increase communication between students and teachers – especially since the school has so many new faces and facilities like the wellbeing centre – so that everyone has the best experience possible. Aside from Head Girl duties, I am also hoping to put in a successful uni application to study Biology.

What advice would you give to people who have just started at Q?

Get involved in as many things as you can! Whether that’s clubs or house events, it’s a great opportunity to make friends with people outside your class/year. But also, Queenswood is such a caring and understanding community, so don’t be scared to ask your teachers or any trusted adult for help if you are struggling with anything.

What made you want to put yourself forward for your role as Head Girl?

After seeing the amazing job the previous Head Girls have done when I was in the younger years, it sparked an interest in this incredible role. If I’m being honest, it was a tough act to follow! However I’m really passionate about making Queenswood a place that everyone enjoys, while also considering Q’s footprint on the environment as I believe exploring ways to tackle climate change are so important.

Who are some of your role models?

Michelle Obama for her work in women’s rights. And my sporting role model is Ros Canter, the current eventing world number 1.
