Pride Month, which takes place throughout June, is an annual celebration marking the anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York in 1969. Pride is a month-long celebration of LGBTQ+ culture and an opportunity to raise awareness of issues facing the LGBTQ+ community.

Our Wellbeing Prefect, Georgie (Year 13), is organising Queenswood's celebrations to mark Pride Month and to raise money for Mind Out - a mental health charity supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community.

As such, all pupils are invited to come to school on Tuesday 28 June dressed in rainbow colours (shirts, socks, trousers, skirts, dresses etc.) and to donate £1 to Mind Out.

Lessons will run as normal, but during lunch there will be music in the Dining room and a quiz for pupils to participate in. Please note that no colourful make up is permitted and any home clothes must be appropriate for school. We are looking forward to a colourful day of celebration!
