Political Geographer Tim Marshall at Queenswood

Monday 4 February 2019

We were honoured to welcome Tim Marshall, journalist, broadcaster and the bestselling author of Prisoners of Geography to Queenswood in January.

His latest book is called Divided: Why We're Living in an Age of Walls. Astonishingly, half of all the world's border barriers erected since 1945 have been built in the twenty-first century. Tim  gave a fascinating lecture in the Clarissa Farr Theatre, focusing on areas of the world where walls and barriers divide communities - from Belfast to the West Bank.

He also spoke about migration patterns since 2000, and made some predictions about the effects of urbanisation and climate change.

We are extremely grateful to Tim for giving up his time.
