On Friday 9 and 16 February, Year 13 completed a three-hour first aid course. This course is a qualification gained that is valid for three years until it has to be renewed. 

Within this, the Sixth Formers learned about how to do CPR, what happens during cardiac arrest and in a heart attack, how to use a defibrillator, how and when to use the recovery position, and how to treat some more common wounds like burns, sprains, bruises, and potential broken bones.

The course was highly interactive and informative and gave the students lots of information that they’ll be able to use if needed.
