新年快乐 – Xīn nián kuài lè – Queenswood Celebrates Lunar New Year

Friday 9 February 2024

On Saturday 10 February, more than 1.5 billion people worldwide will celebrate Lunar New Year, as we enter the Year of the Dragon.

We joined in the festivities at Queenswood with a delicious Chinese banquet, with dishes including sweet chilli pork ribs, sichuan-style prawns, lemon chicken, beef in black bean sauce, red bean paste dosa, kung pao tofu and crispy shredded beef pancakes.

In EAL lessons, pupils made beautiful calligraphy decorations and savoury dumplings.

Mrs Manning (Head of EAL) and her team have put together this very informative slideshow to explain how Lunar New Year is celebrated in China and beyond.

新年快乐 – xīn nián kuài lè!
