LTA President comes to Queenswood

On a blustery afternoon in May, we weredelighted to welcome to Queenswood Cathie Sabin, the first female President of
the Lawn Tennis Association, to present prizes at the Nicola Mabbitt Tennis
Tournament.

As well as congratulating the winners and
runners-up at each level, and presenting the trophy to the Senior Winner, Ema
Lazic, Ms Sabin also handed over the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Award for
Outstanding Achievement in School Sport
to the silver medallists at the 2013 Worlds Schools Tennis Tournament in
Australia.
Ms Sabin was full of praise for the
achievements of our Tennis Scholars. She remarked to the Principal, Pauline
Edgar, that ‘[the school’s] support for our elite players has always been
excellent and clearly the pastoral and academic care they receive from you and
your staff enables them to develop into wonderful players and ambassadors for
the game and for Queenswood.’
