While Europe sealed another Ryder Cup victory on Sunday 21 September, two Queenswood sisters were enjoying a convincing golfing triumph of their own.

Lucy and Alice Baker were selected to join a group of six young golfers, playing off a range of handicaps, to represent Hertfordshire in the East Region Junior Trophy at Stoke By Nayland Golf Club in Essex. The team were victorious against four other counties by a nine-point margin, and were crowned East Region Champions.

This follows an exciting
season for the Baker sisters who between them achieved a number of impressive
results on the golf course last term:       

• Alice 3rd place and
  Lucy 4th place – Sandy Lodge Girls Junior Open
• Lucy 2nd place – Hertfordshire Girls Spring Meeting
• Alice 4th place – Hertfordshire Girls Spring Meeting
• Alice won the
  Redbourn Junior Girls Open by 9 shots with a nett 63
• Lucy came 21st (out
  of 80) in the Hertfordshire Schools Team Championship
• Both girls are in
  the Mill Green Golf Club Junior Team
• Lucy won the May
  Tiger Medal at Mill Green
• Both girls are part
  of the County Academy Squad
