“The speaker was simply amazing. She had so many examples to illustrate her points. She had the points in easy recall slides and sorted as well.”

The events on offer will usually involve inviting a speaker to talk about very important matters. They may or may not affect you or your daughter directly; however, we feel it is very helpful to be aware of these issues.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

Online Safety with the Breck Foundation

Thursday 26 June 2025 | 5.00pm–6.00pm in the Clarissa Farr Theatre

Please note: the session will not be recorded.

The Breck Foundation is a charity with national relevance and impact, founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Their work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. The foundation works with thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings as well as Parents with Breck's story every year.

Their talks and educational materials fill a gap in the current UK curriculum that otherwise leaves children vulnerable to online grooming and exploitation. During this talk, they will cover:

  • Breck's story - a real-life story of what could happen to your child.
  • Who or what is an online groomer and what are the types of grooming your child may be exposed to?
  • How to have that awkward parent-child conversation, gaining trust and sharing your concerns about online safety.
  • Where to find and how to get help if your child is facing online abuse.
  • A showing of Breck's Last Game – which you can then share with your children to start conversations and keep them safe.

Please complete this short form to let us know if you are attending.
