It's only one more week until the Big Garden Birdwatch 2024 and with the weather turning colder, the birds in our gardens need help. Small birds in particular use a lot of calories staying warm at night and so providing them with a highly calorific fat ball can support them to stay healthy over the winter months.

You can buy fat balls in the shops but they are also easy and fun to make at home. This video from the Natural History Museum explains how you can make your own treat for the birds this weekend.
