Our girls and staff responded magnificently to online learning during the period of lockdown in the Summer Term.
We continued with a full timetable for all year groups, delivered in real time via video-conferencing software and collaborative documents, and we even created special extension courses for our Year 11 and 13 pupils to keep them motivated and enthused after the cancellation of exams.
This video from June 2020 explains more about our Remote Learning provision. In the event of individuals or whole year groups having to self-isolate in future, they will be able to learn remotely without any disruption to their studies. We are very proud of the fact that we can run a ‘mixed economy’ of face-to-face and remote lessons simultaneously.
Now that the vast majority of our pupils are physically back at school, we have implemented a series of measures to ensure the safety of girls and staff and minimise the risk of coronavirus infection. A small number of pupils who are unable to return at present due to travel restrictions are continuing to access their lessons remotely. You can read the guidance that was sent to all parents at the start of the Autumn Term here:

Will you be changing your dates for 2021 entrance examinations and scholarship tests?
We will run a full programme of entrance examinations and scholarship tests this academic year in line with previous years. Interviews will take place on Saturday 21 November and Saturday 5 December 2020. The entrance examinations will take place on Saturday 16 January 2021, and scholarship assessments will be conducted from the week commencing Monday 18 January 2021. All interviews, examinations and scholarship assessment (with the exception of Sport) will be conducted online, and girls will take part from the comfort of their own homes.
How are you ensuring children are safe on returning to school?
We appreciate that there are concerns about health and hygiene now that schools have re-opened. Please be reassured that we are following guidance issued by the UK government and extensive additional cleaning and hygiene practices are in place. We will also continue to follow all the UK government’s rules that relate to social distancing and isolation as they evolve. Parents should know that we have a fully staffed and equipped medical centre on our school site with qualified practitioners. If you would like more detail about our Covid-19 health and hygiene protocols, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE), please contact our Admissions team at [email protected].
