Welcome to Issue 90 of the Queenswoodian magazine. It’s been another year of outstanding creativity and achievement, and we hope that these pages give you a flavour of all that our community has accomplished.
The class of 2024 achieved Queenswood’s best examination results in a decade, placing us in the top 5% of schools nationally for academic progress made. We received a glowing inspection report from ISI, praising our pupils as ‘self-motivated, confident and articulate learners with industrious attitudes to their studies’. We’ve been shortlisted for no less than three prestigious education awards in recognition of our outstanding provision in boarding and the performing arts. We retained our position as the number one UK girls’ school for tennis, while The Quire, our non-auditioned choral ensemble, were runners-up at the GSA Choir of the Year Competition.
Pupils have travelled far and wide – from Borneo to Barcelona to Bahrain – for academic enrichment, sporting competition, adventure and philanthropy. There have been so many electrifying performances on the stage and in the concert hall, and, in the art and design studios, pupils have produced wonderfully inventive work. Our co-curricular programme has been especially vibrant, and our boarders have enjoyed special trips and treat nights. We have experienced profoundly spiritual moments in the Chapel, and the school community has raised many thousands of pounds for local charities.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to this edition of the Queenswoodian, and we really hope you enjoy this celebration of a supremely successful academic year.
