Save the Date! Fabulous Charity Choral Concert at Q – September 2019
Wednesday 3 July 2019
On Thursday 19 September at 7pm in the Chapel, Queenswood will welcome seven choral scholars from the world-renowned choir of St John’s College, Cambridge – The Gentlemen of St John’s. The concert is in aid of the Mandalay School for the Deaf Charity, which was originally founded by OQ Sandy Joliffe (Mrs Blakeway-Smith) in 1962 and supports the health and education of deaf children in Myanmar (formerly Burma).
The Gents (as they are affectionately known) will be singing a wide variety of music, ranging from early C15 church music, to folk songs and close-harmony arrangements - something to suit all musical tastes!
Wine, canapés and soft drinks will be served from 6pm (to be included in the ticket price, £20 for adults, £10 for students). Do join us for this charity concert, an evening of delightful music, brilliantly performed and in Queenswood’s wonderful Chapel. Tickets can be purchased through the event’s box office here.
The amazing and moving story of the School’s inception and its survival, through to the School and Charity it is today, can be accessed here along with the website.
