OQ, Karen Hearn, will be giving a lunchtime lecture at the National Portrait Gallery in London on the 3^rd October entitled ‘Elizabeth I’s Appearance’.  Using literature, portraits and eye witness accounts, Karen and UCL colleague Professor Helen Hackett, will investigate how the ageing Queen was viewed by her contemporaries and explore whether we can discover the truth of what Elizabeth was like at 60.
