OQ Golf Society in Action in the Silver Tassie

The Silver Tassie is a ladies golf competition for alumnae of independent schools which are members of the Independent Schools Joint Council and was first played in 1961.  This year  24 teams competed at The Berkshire Golf Club in May, with both courses being in excellent condition and the weather being perfect with no rain!

The OQGS Team:  Jo Rumsey, Rochford Hundred, Essex;  Hazel Fisher (nee Carr) The Hallamshire,Yorkshire; Karen Ellam (nee Arnold) Harpenden Common, Hertfordshire; Kate Eckett (nee Young) Ashridge, Hertfordshire

The OQGS team put in an amazing performance, only missing the gross prize by just one to Millfiield, who had much lower handicapped players.  Well done to the OQGS!

Jo and Hazel played the Blue course and had a gross 76 with 39 points.  Karen and Kate played the Red course and had a gross 77 with 41 points

1st Millfield 152
2nd Queenswood 153

Nett 4BBB:
1st   Sherbourn 87 pts
2nd  James Allen  School  82 pts
3rd joint Queenswood and St George's  80 pts
