FIONA W (YEAR 9)

When I first came to Queenswood school, everything was new to me. On our first day at school, the teacher took us on a tour of the school. Visiting the entire school took over half an hour.

On my first day of school, I made three good friends from China. We all had a lot of common topics and had a great conversation, and everything seemed to be progressing well. The teacher in each class is very friendly and patient, and the content is also very interesting. The teacher does not assign a lot of homework every day, and only completes a dozen or so assignments in a week. The thing I look forward to the most in a day is the food in the school's restaurant. The school food is particularly delicious. Whenever it comes to special holidays, such as the Chinese New Year, the school kitchen will make dumplings for us to eat.

In the blink of an eye, I have been at Queenswood school for six weeks, and time flies quickly. I really enjoy every day I spend at this school, and I feel happy every day. I hope to have a better understanding of this school in the future.

ALICE W (YEAR 8)

I am an international student so I am a full boarder. I live in a house called ‘Stamp’. Our Boarding Assistant is Miss Milner, and our House Parent is Ms Sheeran.  Everyday, Miss Milner or Ms. Sheeran wake us up at 7:00 am. And we have 15 minutes to tidy up ourselves. If you think 15 minutes are not enough for you to tidy up, you can call Miss Milner or Ms Sheeran to wake you up 15 minutes early. And we go straight to breakfast. After school, we can go up and change for supper. When it is 8:00 pm. we can have our free time. 9:15 is lights out, the time we must sleep. If you can’t, you can read.

The teachers in the school are nice but some of them are strict. My favourite subject is music. I love playing piano. I've been playing the piano since I was 5. I think the most difficult subject is Spanish. I've never learned Spanish before.

I am full boarder, I stay in school on the weekends. Sometimes we do activities. For example, we do fencing, drawing, and watch a movie at night. We can also go to bed later. In PE class, I often do badminton, netball and hockey. I prefer badminton because I've never tried hockey before. It feels like I'm having a great time in school.

KATE R (YEAR 8)

The school day is quite interesting, we don’t have breaks after each lesson. We’ve got them after each two. I really like maths and arts here. It is always interesting and competitive. I didn’t like geography at the beginning, but now I really enjoy it.

We’ve got a trip every weekend somewhere interesting, like an ice rink or laser quest, and sometimes we’ve got trips at schooltime, so that we miss our lessons. But it doesn’t happen very often.

Here we can do two clubs or three clubs in a day, this is really cool because you can try something new for you and get better at familiar stuff. So I started fencing and it became my sport here. So you can improve your arts or music, or whatever you want. This is cool because you are doing much more than we could in our old school.
