September 2020: Catching up with our girls
Thursday 17 September 2020
On Tuesday this week, I managed to remove myself from the necessary but rather dull risk assessments and Covid-related management meetings to do what I enjoy most, which is to visit the girls and staff in their lessons, and how wonderful it was too! I caught up with most of Year 7 in their form groups. They all seemed to be enjoying the morning and interacting with enthusiasm and energy with their Tutors.
Our Year 12 Psychologists were preparing for their lesson with Mrs Christoforou and it was brilliant to hear how much they were enjoying the start of their A-Level studies and the Sixth Form experience at Q. Psychology is a new subject at A-Level and is proving extremely popular amongst both the Year 12 and Year 13 girls. I was tempted to stay a little longer to find out what they were studying today!
It was not long before I had to return to my study for more management meetings but as I walked across our beautiful campus in the glorious sunshine, I managed to take a quick detour to Computer Science where Mrs Cunningham was engaging Year 8 about spreadsheet formatting. It was lovely to see the girls so enthused and again, I would have loved to have stayed longer to find out more.
This week, I have met with the Parent Reps for each year group. Thank you to all the parents involved and I look forward to working alongside you all.
I have had overwhelmingly positive feedback from the girls about the food during this time; they seem to like the “multi-restaurant experience”, which is great. The Catering team are doing a really difficult job incredibly well!
