Raising the Roof at the Gold Singing Award Concert

Friday 17 November 2023

We were treated to some wonderfully spirited performances at the Gold Singing Award concert on Thursday 9 November.

Each of the eight finalists performed two songs from the popular, classical or musical theatre repertoire, expertly accompanied by Mr Newport on piano. The programme included numbers by Elton John, Queen, John Rutter and Frank Wildhorn.

Our guest judge, David Temple MBE, was extremely encouraging and insightful in his adjudication. The winners were as follows:

  • Winner: Isabella P-V (Year 13)
  • Highly Commended: Amy H (Year 11)
  • Commended: Anna B (Year 10)

The annual Gold Singing Award is a highly prestigious event at Queenswood, and several past winners have gone on to enjoy fulfilling careers in the music profession.

You can watch excerpts of the winning performances below. For a full video of all finalists’ performances, please email [email protected]
