Queenswood Regain National Schools’ Tennis Title

Sunday 12 July 2015

We are thrilled to announce that the Queenswood team of Katty Weymouth, Georgie Walker, Ema Lazic, Olivia Peet and Emily Small regained the National Schools’ Tennis title in early July, losing only one
rubber throughout the competition.

Queenswood's Tennis team regained the Aberdare Cup - the National Schools Tennis Competition - in July 2015

En route to the final the girls beat
Peters Symonds, Holmfirth and Millfield. In the final they faced their old rivals Talbot Heath.

The girls played superbly and went into the final two doubles’ rubbers with a 3-1 lead. They
had to fight for every point, however, and both matches were decided by
tie breaks in the final set, resulting in a 5-1 win.

Weymouth moves on this summer to university in the USA but the other
four girls will be on court, fighting to retain their title, in 2016!
