This week at Medical Society Miss Smith (Head of Science) gave a lecture on drug absorption and metabolism.

In the lecture we considered the effect of polar bonds on drug absorption and administration and we discussed the first pass effect and how this must be considered by medics when calculating drug doses.

The Medical Society meets weekly in the Science Department, and is open to all Sixth Form students interested in pursuing a career in Medicine or Veterinary Science.
