Massive turn-out for Queenswood’s inaugural Hurley Cup
Monday 23 March 2015
The first ever Hurley Cup for Inter-House Cross-Country was awarded to Clapham North on Friday 20 March, at the culmination of a joyous event in which almost every Queenswood girl took part.
Girls and staff earned points for their Houses by running the mile-long course through Queenswood’s beautiful grounds, and many recorded extremely impressive times. The weather was perfect, and the sense of House spirit was very powerful.
We were delighted that Mrs Colette Hurley was able to join us to present the Cup in memory of her late husband, who did so much to support Queenswood. It was fitting that the fastest time for the course – an astonishing 6 minutes and 2 seconds – was recorded by both of Mrs Hurley’s daughters, Jess (Year 10) and Rebecca (Lower Sixth).
We would like to congratulate everyone who took part, and to thank everyone who played a part in organising the event.
