House Performing Arts 2021

Friday 15 October 2021

This week the Clarissa Farr Theatre has been a hive of activity, as musicians, actors and dancers from across the school presented their submissions for the hotly-contested House Performing Arts Competition.

Each House prepared a programme of scenes, sketches, choreographed routines and musical numbers involving pupils from every year group in the school. The standard was particularly high, and we would like to thank the Year 12 students who were responsible for co-ordinating the entries.

The performances were filmed, and will be screened to the school community after half term. We will share the recordings, along with the results of the adjudication, in the next issue of the newsletter.

Georgie I (Year 12, Hartley) gave us an insight into her House’s preparations for HPA

“Hartley has been working so hard on House Performing Arts! We are doing Much Ado About Nothing in three minutes, ‘El Tango de Roxanne’ from Moulin Rouge and an ABBA medley. There is so much talent in our house through the year groups. It has been such an honour to rehearse and get to know so many amazing people! Hartley’s aim was to have the most fun throughout rehearsals and we have definitely done that, even if we don’t win. Well done to all the other houses! Bring on the competition!”
