Dick Moore: ‘Dancing in the Rain’ – A Mental Health Talk for Parents on Thursday 14 January

Friday 8 January 2021

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has brought unique and unexpected challenges to young people's mental health and wellbeing, schools and parents. We are more cognisant than ever of the importance of mental health and understand that the pandemic has caused a real crisis in adolescent mental health.

We have arranged for Dick Moore to speak to parents and guardians.  This will be a virtual presentation on Thursday, 14 January from 7 to 8 pm.  The title of his talk will be ‘Dancing in the Rain’ and he will be addressing adolescent mental health.

Dick has been an English teacher, rugby coach, boarding school housemaster and, for more than 20 years, he was the headmaster of a co-educational day and boarding school.  Dick’s son committed suicide nearly 10 years ago and he has, by his own admission, a ‘passionate interest in adolescent development and emotional wellbeing’. He has spoken a number of times at Queenswood and he is superb.  If you would like to join us the evening of 14th January, please do sign up here.

A link to the meeting will then be sent to you.  Additionally, if you are unable to attend but would like a recording to be sent to you, the option to indicate this is available on the form as well.
