Covid Safety Precautions Update

Thursday 27 January 2022

Mrs Cameron sent the following message to all parents and guardians on Wednesday 26 January

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement last week that Plan “B” comes to an end today, I am writing to explain what this means for Queenswood pupils and staff.

From tomorrow, the wearing of face masks is no longer required in communal areas. Following the removal of the requirement last Thursday for face masks to be worn in classrooms, this means that pupils and staff are now able to move freely around school without being inhibited by a mask. I am sure that most of us are very relieved about this. However, we recognise that some pupils and staff may wish to continue to wear a face mask, and that is entirely understandable and acceptable.

School Transport

At present, face masks are not required on school transport, however, they are recommended, so we would suggest that your daughter continues to wear one.

Potential for the Localised Re-introduction of Face Masks

Please be aware that, should the incidence of Covid within our school increase significantly, it may be necessary to re-introduce some restrictions. If we continue with the testing regime and general hygiene in school, I believe it will help to restrict the further spread of the virus within our setting and avoid the reintroduction of measures such as face masks. Therefore, please remind your daughter about the importance of maintaining the following Covid-safe precautions:

  1. Twice-weekly Lateral Flow Tests. We are very grateful that many of you are ensuring that Lateral Flow Tests (LFT) are being taken every Wednesday and Sunday. Please can I ask that, if you are not doing these tests, you start to do so.
  2. Social distancing should be adhered to as much as possible and of course please encourage your daughter to wash her hands thoroughly and regularly throughout the day.  There are hand-washing facilities and sanitiser available in every building.

If your daughter does test positive either using a LFT or PCR test, please complete the form by clicking on the link below and follow the government guidance in relation to isolation. https://forms.gle/EFjPfvG8fWmYfkaDA

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards

Jo Cameron
