Queenswood is proud to announce another year of exceptional GCSE results, reflecting the hard work, perseverance and ambition of our students and staff.

This year, 76% of all grades were 9–6. An impressive 55% of all grades awarded were Grade 7 or above – more than twice the national average – , with several students achieving straight 8s and 9s (equivalent to A* in the previous grading system).

Science results were especially impressive, with over 50% of all pupils achieving Grade 8 or 9 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics – proof that STEM students continue to thrive in an all-girls environment.

In other areas, particularly Spanish, Ancient Greek, Drama and Dance, there were equally strong performances, with over 75% of students achieving Grade 7 or higher. These results highlight the breadth and strength of Queenswood’s academic provision and the dedication of our teaching staff.

Tennis Scholar Gabby R, who combined her GCSE studies with a busy programme of international competition, achieved eight 9s and two 8s, and is set to study Chemistry, Maths and Spanish at A-Level.

Kalli Z, a cellist with the prestigious National Youth Orchestra and one of Queenswood’s elite Music Scholars, achieved five grade 9s and will be taking Geography, Maths and Music in the Sixth Form.

Principal Jo Cameron commented: ‘We are incredibly proud of our students. These results reflect not only academic excellence but also the courage, resilience and creativity that Queenswood nurtures in every girl.’

Mr Ian Sheldon, Senior Deputy Head, added that ‘Queenswood challenges and improves the best academics whilst adding value to everyone and these results are testament to that. The school is academically ambitious, and our sector-leading value-added has resulted in an uplift of almost a whole grade in every GCSE taken for every pupil, compared to baseline tests.’

Our students will now embark on their A-Level studies full of confidence, as they join the largest Queenswood Sixth Form cohort in years. Over 50% will be taking at least one STEM subject, with the most popular subject being Maths.
