Blossoms Rise in Colours Bright: The Beauty of Late Spring at Q

Wednesday 14 May 2025

Tuesday was far too glorious a day to stay indoors, so the Newsletter Club headed outside and captured some stunning photos we’re excited to share with you. They took inspiration from two beautifully crafted and evocative poems written by Maya L (8N) and Rebekah W (9N). You can read their poems below.

SPRING AGAIN by MAYA L (8N)

Spring arrives on drifting air,
lifting winter’s heavy stare.
Soft rains kiss the thirsty ground,
as life stirs deep without a sound.

Roots press upward, strong and true,
breaking earth in shades of new.
Blossoms rise in colours bright,
scattering gold in the morning light.

Rivers hum and breezes play,
chasing all the cold away.
Birdsong spills from budding trees,
woven through the laughing breeze.

Not just gentle, soft, or shy
spring is bright and climbing high.
A season born from hope and song,
where warmth and wonder both belong.

SPRING POEM by REBEKAH W (9N)

The orchestra of marigold magnolias swayed in the wind
Their soft, light sounds resonating through the air
Yet, the sun added something special
A light that my eyes hadn’t yet seen
Something that made my pupils gleam.
The scent was sweet yet tangy true
Like sugar twirling in a spicy brew
Above, lay a soft blue peppered with white
As beautiful as the shimmer of angels light
Though Spring’s embrace was so very fleeting
It shies away for Summer’s meeting.
