Thoroughly Deserved A-Level Success for the Class of ’25

Thursday 14 August 2025

Queenswood students are celebrating an impressive set of A level results.

This year, almost one-third of all grades awarded to Year 13 pupils were at A* or A, with students securing places at some of the UK’s most prestigious universities, including Geography at Durham, Mechanical Engineering at Leeds, Biochemistry at Bristol, History and English at King’s College London, Architectural Studies at Cardiff and Psychology at Manchester.

EPQ results are outstanding again this year with 40% achieving the top A* grade and 70% A* - B.

Senior Deputy Head, Mr Ian Sheldon, commented: “As Queenswood is a school that does not only select A* students, these results bring into perspective the scale of the achievement. Our Year 13 students have secured a highly impressive set of A-Level results this year, which reflects both their dedication and their commitment to achieving their potential in partnership with our teaching staff. Queenswood is renowned for its academic value added, which once again places us in the top 5% of independent schools nationally.”

The school also celebrated outstanding individual performances, with several students achieving straight A* or A grades across all their subjects.

Theatre student Isabella has a highly sought-after place to study at Performance Design at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. ‘I am very excited to be pursuing my dream of designing for the theatre. It’s a really competitive course, with only ten places available.’

The achievement among our most able students was especially high, with four-fifths A*-B grades among the top two quartiles - comparable with the most highly selective schools.

Principal Jo Cameron remarked, “While the headline figures are always impressive, it is the personal achievements of our students that really matter. Every student moving on to the next stage of their academic or professional journey does so with the strongest foundations for future success and I am proud that Queenswood has been part of their journey.”
