This year’s Summertime Ball, held on Saturday 21 June in the idyllic setting of Trew Lawn, was an absolute triumph.

From the champagne reception on arrival, serenaded by exquisite violin music, right through to the epic floor-filling double set from the band, guests were treated to non-stop entertainment of the highest calibre.

The food, prepared and served by our very own Catering Team, was utterly delicious – many of our guests were astounded that a school kitchen could produce such stunning quality.

An aerial stunt artiste performed astonishing routines in between courses, and at the end of the meal the Undercover Artists had everyone on their feet with a set of crowd-pleasing anthems...Mr and Mrs Cameron even pulled off the iconic Dirty Dancing lift!

Parents, Sixth Formers and staff enjoyed letting off steam on the dodgems, and helping themselves to treats from the candyfloss and donut stalls. A dancing saxophonist brought the crowds to the dance floor, and the superb Happy Hour kept them celebrating until 1am.

Among the guests was OQ Wendy Thomas, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday! This was especially fitting, as we are commemorating 100 years of Queenswood being on the Hertfordshire campus in 2025.

Thank you so much to Steff Hall and her incomparable Catering Team for organising the event so meticulously, and to the Queenswood Parents’ Association whose generosity made the event possible. Profits from the Silent Auction will go towards funding the work of the QPA.
