Queenswood Sports Stars in Action for Club and County
Friday 6 June 2025
It’s been a remarkably successful few weeks for some of our sporting stars, with stellar performances in hockey, netball and tennis.
Queenswoodians have been out in force representing their counties and clubs to conclude the hockey season. Congratulations to Nina D (Year 7) and her Q teammates Ophelia P B and Liv C (Year 8), who represented Hertfordshire in the plate tournament, placing 1st.
For Nina, the success continued with her St Albans teammates at the East Region Finals, where she won a bronze medal.
The next generation of Q netballers are making plays! Four of our September 2025 joiners were in action at the England U11 Eastern Finals (below left). Alexa C and Isabelle O represented Turnford, who placed second, whilst Heidi B and Ella R represented Wodson, who placed third. Both teams are through to Nationals this Saturday; we are wishing you all the best!
Congratulations to Ava G (Year 8) who played in the London Pulse Copper Box finals over half term with her team, Hertford Hornets. They came away with silver and were presented their medals at half time during the London Pulse Super League match. The team also had the amazing opportunity to meet the Men’s England netball squad. Ava is pictured on the left of the front row (above right).
Katriel A (Year 9) has been successfully selected for the London Pulse U15 Academy Long Squad. She recently represented the team in a tournament and was named Vice-Captain – what an achievement!
Last but not least, huge congratulations to tennis scholar Milica M (Year 9), who reached the final of the U14 grass court champs at East Gloucestershire in half term. This now means that she has qualified for the 14 & Under invitational event at Wimbledon in July!
