Year 12 Drama students staged an astonishingly inventive and powerful piece of devised theatre on Monday 19 May.

Titled ‘Missing: Presumed Dead – The Curious Case of John Darwin’, the play told the bizarre story of the infamous ‘Canoe Man’, who faked his own death in 2002 to escape debt and fraudulently claim life insurance.

The students made brilliantly playful use of props and puppetry, along with stunning lighting and projection effects, to bring this incredible tale to life.They were inspired by the techniques of Complicité, whose work is visually inventive, highly physical, and rooted in ensemble collaboration and imaginative storytelling.
