Dick Kerr’s Ladies, 1921

On Friday 9 May, the Senior Academic Scholars listened to Kirat G (Year 12) present about the evolution of women’s football, inspired by her enjoyment of watching the games.

It was particularly interesting to hear about the ban of professional teams in 1921 as well as how it was a big part of women’s lives during WW2. However, despite the rapid and recent growth of women’s football, Kirat also talked about how there’s much more to be done before equality between men and women is reached in the football world.
