Weekend Fun: Be Kind to Yourselves this Weekend
Wednesday 7 May 2025
We understand that if you are in Years 11 and 13, you may be feeling under pressure as you head towards your GCSE and A Level examinations. As you 'dig deep' for this final leg of your exam preparation, it's more important than ever to look after yourselves, both physically and mentally - eating well, getting plenty of sleep and taking a break from revision. You may be on study leave but your teachers are always here for you; please can contact them by email or come in to school to see them during your usual timetabled lesson time.
With this in mind, please take time this weekend to remember the following:
Create a realistic revision timetable - build in breaks and stick to it gently.
Take care of your body - sleep, regular meals, movement, and staying hydrated all help reduce stress.
Talk about how you feel - with friends, family, or a trusted adult at school.
Challenge negative self-talk - remind yourself that your worth is not defined by grades.
Limit social media - especially around exam time, as it can fuel comparison and stress.
Practice calming techniques - like deep breathing, mindfulness, or short walks.
There are some videos below which might be useful and please remember to be kind to yourselves.
