Celebrating Another Sensational Year of Sport at Q

We celebrated another outstanding year of sporting achievement at our annual Sports Awards Dinner on Friday 25 April. Our guest of honour was former Queenswood Head Girl and England Hockey International Sofia Martin, who gave a heartfelt and inspirational speech about her astonishing career, explaining how she combines representing her country with her Medical Biosciences degree at Imperial College London.
Mrs Wakeley (Director of Sport) gace a run-down of the year in statistics:
- 252 girls in school have played for a team.
- This year our sportswomen have participated in over 2100 clubs and training sessions.
- 524 fixtures in 13 sports
- This year Q had a total of 89 sports teams
- 180 pupils have travelled on Sports Tours and national competitions
- 125 girls represented Q at Hockey; 161 girls represented Q at Netball
- Year 7 have the highest representation, with 80% of the year group playing a fixture, and Year 9 are close behind with 71%
- The most successful team was the U12A Hockey team, winning 85% of their fixtures
- The U13A Netball team has played the most fixtures, with 22
- Nine pupils have represented the school in the widest variety of sports, participating in 11 different sports.

- U16 National Athletics Finalists: Team Spirit
- U13 Netball: Most Improved Team
- Erin Hobson: Team Player of the Year (Year 9)
- Annabelle K: Volunteer of the Year
- Madison F: Junior Pupil of the Year (Years 7–9)
- Grace B” Senior Pupil of the Year (Year 10+)
- Seven Olympic and Paralympic Values
