Queenswood Sixth Formers achieve outstanding academic results. Most girls will progress to Oxbridge, Ivy League and Russell Group destinations in a variety of subjects: from English to Engineering; Classics to Chemistry; Business to Biomedical Sciences. |
Academic Reputation of Queenswood and Value-added Tables
Most importantly, however, the Good Schools Guide highlights that what our girls achieve places the school "at the pinnacle of Hertfordshire's value-added tables". Our teachers work tirelessly to ensure their students reach – and consistently exceed – their potential.
Extra-curricular Activities and The Extended Project Qualification
We are so much more than an academic hothouse: whatever your
future aspirations – be it in the world of Art, Dance, Music, Cookery,
Sport the staff at Queenswood will help you achieve them. In support of
the traditional academic subjects, we are very pleased with the success of the
EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) at Queenswood. Many girls choose this
independent study option - much prized by universities - to supplement their education
with a range of valuable skills.
Sixth Form Lecture Programme and Queenswood Societies
To support their academic subjects, we offer a varied and stimulating Sixth Form Lecture programme, which is delivered by outside speakers who are experts in their chosen field. The purpose of this programme is to supplement students’ knowledge of global issues while offering insight into the world of business and careers.
Many subjects also offer their own societies and clubs, such as our English Society, History Society, Philosophy Club and Government and Politics Society. We take a holistic approach to each girl’s education by encouraging learning outside of the classroom, as well as outside of their curriculum subjects.
Every student at Queenswood also takes part in community action and charity fund-raising projects, which builds character, confidence and leadership skills. The activities sixth formers are privy to further enhance their growth and development, and make them more well-rounded individuals.
