Dragons’ Den

Monday 8 September 2014

At the beginning of the autumn term, the Lower Sixth wereinvolved in a ‘bonding’ session based on TV’s Dragons’ Den.

The girls were
divided into six teams and had to work together in their respective groups
to pitch an idea for a business enterprise or
event. The teams would all face being quizzed by the panel of five dragons,
which included three members of staff and two members from the co-ordinators,
Chillisauce.

The ideas that that each team came up were all very viable, but
there could only be one group of winners.  The victorious team came up with the
idea of a make-up stick in the shape of cross.  From the
gadget, the client would be able to choose which section of makeup they wanted
to apply ranging from different  eye colour, massacre or liners.  The
team had also considered the age group that they were targeting, as well as
financing and marketing issues.  The product had
the catchy name of “Crosseyes”.

All in all, it was an excellent opportunity for all students to get acquainted and to practise skills such as teamwork, creativity, public speaking and debating.
