Queenswood is an extraordinary place with extraordinary people. It would be our privilege to educate your daughters here.

Queenswood Down the Decades – 1961

Thursday 13 May 2021

Further to last week's glimpse of life at Queenswood in 1951, we are delighted to share some excerpts from the 1961 Queenswoodian below.

Sir Thomas Bennett's Prize Giving Speech provides an illuminating observation of how opportunities for young women of the day were rapidly expanding and how with growing accessibility to motor transport, television and travel - their generation were enjoying more freedom than ever before.

The opening of the wooden bridge over Shepherd's Way was much celebrated and the Sixth Form Biologists visited New Hatfield.

We hope you enjoy another nostalgic trip down the decades!
