Uniform – revised guidelines for colder weather

Friday 2 October 2020

We began the year by asking all girls to be in PE kit and to wear their year-group coloured polo shirts.

This has been extremely helpful in ensuring that girls keep to their designated year-group areas and also that they are in the correct lunch venue at the correct time.

However, we are aware that, as it is now getting colder, it would be sensible to add regular school uniform back on the days where the girls do not have PE.

This is already what the pupils in Sixth Form have been doing: wearing their Sixth Form attire on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays when they do not have PE and their PE kit on Tuesdays and Thursdays when they do have PE.

We do still require that girls wear their year-group coloured polo shirts, either with their usual school uniform (under the jumper or cardigan and in place of the short-sleeve purple shirt) or with their PE kit.

Therefore, we have decided to roll this out to the whole school, so on the days that girls in Years 7-11 do not have PE, they should be in their usual school uniform of skirt, tights, blouse, jumper/cardigan (blazers will be recommended but won't be enforced as they are more difficult to clean).

Additionally, girls who do a PE club at lunchtime or after school will be permitted to wear their PE kit on these days as well.

During the days that girls do PE, we would like them to still wear their year-group coloured polo shirts too.
