Queenswood is an extraordinary place with extraordinary people. It would be our privilege to educate your daughters here.

Clarissa Farr, former Queenswood Principal, publishes seminal book on girls’ education

Tuesday 3 September 2019

Described by Sir Anthony Seldon as 'the doyen of headmistresses in the early twenty-first century', Clarissa Farr began her illustrious career in school leadership as Queenswood's Principal (1996-2006).

She was subsequently appointed High Mistress of St Paul's Girls' School, a post she held for eleven years.

In her new book, The Making of Her: Why School Matters, Ms Farr takes a provocative look at our education system, laying bare the day-to-day experience of school for students, teachers and families.

The Making of Her asks the big questions. What are the challenges facing students and their teachers today? How do we educate girls to become tomorrow’s leaders? What is the role of a school in a modern, virtual world?
