Queenswood Down the Decades – 1951

Thursday 6 May 2021

A delve into the Queenswood archives this week uncovered a host of treasures, some of which we thought you may wish to see over the next few weeks.

For over 80 years, The Queenswoodian magazine, has captured our pupils’ experiences, achievements and the character of the times the girls were living through.

Our current day publication, with the inclusion of vibrant colour photographs and layouts, looks very different to earlier versions of the Queenswoodian. However, there is much to be entertained by in the excerpts from the 1951 edition below – including the first ever Queenswood Drama Festival, the staff production of Cinderella and a very amusing essay titled ‘Why I Have Been Moved to the Front’.

We hope you enjoy this nostalgic trip down the decades!
