During the Lower and Upper Sixth years, the careers staff continue to advise on careers and higher education. Girls are encouraged to make their own choices in the light of comprehensive information about the opportunities available.
Queenswood is a member of ISCO (Independent Schools Careers Organisation) which offers professional advice and support. Visits to universities, colleges, hospitals etc. are arranged, together with a programme of illustrated lectures. During the Upper Sixth all girls are given the opportunity to have a mock interview.
Oxford, Cambridge and other University Applications
All university application procedures will be overseen by personal tutors, the Head of Sixth Form, the Head of Careers, the Deputy Principal Academic and the Principal.
Towards the end of the Lower Sixth year, potential Oxbridge candidates will be identified by Heads of Department.
Visits to universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, are arranged - usually during the summer term of the Lower Sixth. On these occasions, girls can talk to Admissions Tutors and often meet old Queenswoodians.
Queenswood will follow up all university applications and give advice and help post A level should girls require it.
