Snowdrops outside the Chapel

Queenswood hosted an International "Galanthus Gala" during the half term break. Dozens of snowdrop enthusiasts – known  as “galanthophiles”  - descended on Q to hear a series of three lectures in the award-winning theatre followed by a lunch and plant sale. An afternoon visit was made to Myddelton House Gardens in Enfield to see some of the very interesting varieties of snow-drops growing there.

The organiser of the gala, Joe Sharman of Monksilver Nurseries, Cambridge, remarked that our beautiful grounds (which is home to a few snow-drops here and there) and wonderful facilities make Queenswood an ideal setting for the event.
