Oh What A Lovely War

Adopting director Joan Littlewood’s original Pierrot style, 75 girls presented this modern classic to packed houses at the Clarissa Farr Theatre on 28, 29 and 30 November. By turns hilarious and deeply moving, this celebrated musical revue is based on songs from the trenches of the First World War. While stark facts and photographs projected onto a screen behind the performers remind us of the grim realities of war, the action on stage is highly stylized and blackly comic.
