Friday 13 - Sunday 15 March saw five Lower 6th students and two members of staff in Paris for a weekend of museum visits. We travelled from St Pancras by Eurostar, which seemed so luxurious that we hardly noticed that we had left England. It dawned on us very quickly, however, when we had to negotiate getting taxis at Gare du Nord in French!
On Saturday we visited Musée Rodin, L’Orangerie, Musée D’Orsay and the Centre Pompidou stopping off for breakfast, lunch and even dinner before getting back to the Hôtel Aquarelle (very appropriate!) Five very tired little faces greeted the staff on Sunday morning as we headed out to Musée Picasso. Even breakfast did little to revive. However, the work at the Picasso, and mirror installations by a modern artist, worked wonders.
The girls were fabulous; we walked all over Paris and ate lovely food in between seeing some really fabulous artworks. They did a lot of drawing, which will go towards the units in their Art AS. It was an extremely worthwhile trip.
