Queenswood had six pairs of players in action on Saturday 10 May, taking part in the Harpenden Girls Schools Doubles Tournament on a hot sunny day at Harpenden Tennis Club.  Our 19U and 16U pairs lost out in the semi- final stages but our 14U pair of Lindsay Y and Rebecca S fought through to the final to take on old rivals Millfield.  Our young pair lost the first set but then put on a titanic struggle for the second set going down 12-10 in the tie break to become runners up.  Referee Pat Styles said “that this match had been the best final of the day”.

This was the culmination of a busy week for Rebecca as she and fellow scholar Holly R spent two days at the LTA Centre at Roehampton attending a National Training Camp.  They attended with other players from our linked High Performance Centre Gosling. They enjoyed the coaching sessions given by former Wimbledon and Davis Cup player Greg Rusedski.
