Dance is one of the most popular extra-curricular activities at Queenswood with many girls taking tuition in the Cecchetti form of ballet throughout their time in the school.   Girls did exceptionally well in the December exams gaining 9 distinctions and 11 merits.  Special mention must be made of Year 10 students Angela L and Vivian N   Angela was awarded 91% and Vivian, having passed Grade 6, has the equivalent of an A level as Grade 6 is recognised under The National Qualifications Framework which assists girls with their university applications.

The Cecchetti ballet method seeks to develop the dancer's body with the qualities essential to dance: balance, poise, strength, elevation, elasticity, etc.  Each dancer follows basic principles, growing and developing their dance technique as well as their fitness, suppleness and self-confidence.  Girls can take standards and grades up to diploma level and some girls have gone on to study dance professionally after leaving Queenswood.
