The Houses
Lower Sixth

L6 bedroom
Sixth Formers play a vital role in the school, both in setting standards and in providing leadership.  They welcome the opportunity to come together as a year group, after having spent some years in separate houses lower down the school.

To facilitate study and to ease transition to university, many Sixth Formers board, either continuing their experience from the lower and middle school or opting to board if previously a day girl. The Lower Sixth boarders are currently accommodated in four houses, each with its own resident members of staff.  Day girls have modern study bases in 'Bridge' and have access to the internet, lockable cupboards and mini-kitchens for refreshments.  The girls come together at break times in the Sixth Form Centre, nick-named 'The Pizza Hut' due to its distinctive shape!

Sarah Dee joined Queenswood as Lower Sixth Housemistress in September 2007. She has held responsible posts at both St Mary's School Ascot in Berkshire and Roedean School near Brighton. In addition to teaching Geography, she has a keen interest in extracurricular activities and has over twenty years of experience in boarding. Amongst a range of interests, open water swimming, playing the viola, knitting and reading are particular favourites.
