The Houses
Clapham North Yr 9-11
|
|
Clapham North
is the smallest of the houses with 25 boarders and 17 day girls. The layout of the House naturally brings the girls together and the House Room is where they meet and socialise in the evenings. |
|
|
The compact kitchen has facilities for making hot drinks and snacks. There are some study bedrooms for the year 11 girls, but most of the girls enjoy sharing a room with their friends. The House Leadership team actively encourages girls to participate and support the wide range of inter house competitions that take place each term. There is always a member of house staff available and girls from other Houses are always welcome to visit at any time. |
Jenni Brown-Hovelt
was appointed Housemistress of Clapham North in April 2006. Prior to this she was at
Roedean
School for nine years where she was Housemistress and latterly Senior Housemistress with responsibility for the pastoral care of 140 girls.
Jenni worked as a freelance photographer for many years while her family were growing up. She is involved in the extracurricular programme at Queenswood and teaches Photography to the Sixth Form. When she is not at Queenswood she enjoys travel, walking, gardening and entertaining at her home in
West Sussex.
