Queenswood’s Year 8 Tennis Team, winners of the AEGON National Schools Championships in December, have just learned that they have been nominated to receive an award. The Welwyn Hatfield Borough Sports Awards 2010, now in their third year, aim to recognise and celebrate the achievements of talented athletes in the region: see www.welhat.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1815. There are 10 categories including Sports Person of the Year, Coach of the Year and Schoolteacher of the Year. Our talented team of Lindsay Y, Chloe L, Nicole S, Katarina W and Becky S have been nominated for School Team of the Year and will attend a prestigious awards ceremony on 11 February in Welwyn Garden City. We wish our girls all the best on the evening.
